Pengembangan Kreativitas dan Literasi Media Sosial Youtube melalui Konten Video Bagi Siswa

Purpose: The background of this service is the discovery that creativity and literacy in YouTube social media are currently still low. The purpose of implementing this service is to improve students' creativity and literacy by deepening their understanding of the content on YouTube social media and as a means of channeling ideas, talents, and interests of students at SMP 1 Cibatu.Methodology/approach: The method used in implementing this activity is a seminar on developing creativity and social media literacy on June 14 2024 with counseling and mentoring.Results/findings: The results of this community service activity increased by 61.29% from 25.81% to 87.10% of students knowing the creativity and literacy of social media, especially on YouTube. Apart from that, it motivates students to continue working to express ideas in content production concepts, create concepts that students are interested in, and carry out the content creation process itself. Conclusions: In conclusion, this can significantly improve students' creativity.Limitations: The limitations of this service are that it only focuses on developing creativity and YouTube social media literacy, so that students can have innate abilities that focus on how to create content.Contribution: The results of this community service contribute especially to students who already have basic skills in how to create video content, this can provide new insights and knowledge to increase their creativity.

HAND-IN-ACTION: Pemberdayaan Pasien Carpal Tunnel Syndrome melalui Latihan Gliding Exercise

Purpose: This study aims to explore the empowerment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) patients through gliding exercises, with a focus on its role in reducing symptoms and improving hand function.Methodology/approach: This counseling was carried out at the Purjaya village health post involving 20 CTS patients. A structured gliding training program was implemented, including tendon gliding and neural gliding techniques. The effectiveness of the exercise was evaluated using leaflets.Results/findings: The findings indicate that regular gliding exercises significantly reduce pain, improve hand mobility, and enhance functional use of the affected hand. Patients reported increased comfort in daily activities and reduced reliance on pain medication.Limitations: The study is limited by its sample size and duration, requiring further longitudinal research to confirm long-term benefits.Contribution: This study highlights the importance of non-invasive interventions in managing CTS, providing an effective, low-cost, and accessible rehabilitation method for patients and healthcare practitioners.

Pengembangan Canti sebagai Desa Wisata Pesisir Tangguh Bencana Berbasis pada Kearifan Lokal

Purpose: This initiative aims to transform Canti Village into a disaster-resilient coastal tourism destination by leveraging its unique local wisdom, culture, and natural resources. The objective was to empower the community, revitalize local businesses, and position Canti Village as a thriving tourism hub. Methodology: The initiative employed a participatory approach, engaging the village government, local stakeholders, and community members through workshops, focus-group discussions, and hands-on training. Key activities included assessing the village’s natural, maritime, and historical attractions; identifying dormant businesses; and providing capacity-building sessions on entrepreneurship, disaster resilience, and technology integration. Results: The initiative achieved significant milestones, including the revitalization of dormant businesses, enhancement of community knowledge on disaster resilience, and introduction of technology to existing entrepreneurs. The program also helped to position Canti Village as a potential tourism hub by developing value-added products and services. Furthermore, community members exhibited an increased readiness to serve as tourism actors, demonstrating a commitment to promoting the village’s cultural and natural heritage. Limitations: The primary challenges include limited financial resources and the need for ongoing technical support to sustain the initiative's outcomes. Additionally, infrastructural constraints and the limited digital literacy of some community members pose hurdles in achieving broader technological integration. Contributions: This initiative contributes to regional development by fostering disaster-resilient and sustainable tourism. It also serves as a model for integrating local wisdom into tourism development, promoting cultural preservation, and enhancing economic opportunities in rural communities.

Edukasi Senam Rematik untuk Mengatasi Kekakuan Sendi dengan Terapi Non-Farmakologis di Kelurahan Timbangan Ogan Ilir Palembang

Purpose: This community service activity aims to introduce rheumatic exercises to the public who experience joint stiffness so that they can perform these exercises independently at home to prevent further joint stiffness through non-pharmacological therapy. Methodology: The method used in this activity provides education on rheumatic exercises with non-pharmacological therapy. The material was delivered using a lecture and Q&A method, while rheumatic exercises were demonstrated and practiced through demonstrations and simulations. The target group for this activity consisted of individuals over 40 years old suffering from joint stiffness in the Timbangan subdistrict of Ogan Ilir, Palembang, totaling 20 participants. Results: The results showed an increase in knowledge and skills regarding rheumatic exercises, especially for those suffering from joint stiffness, and for the public of Timbangan subdistrict in general. Counseling is used as a service activity, with health promotion media in the form of leaflets that include illustrated exercise instructions. Limitations: This activity was only conducted in Timbangan Village, Ogan Ilir, and Palembang, so its benefits have not yet been felt by people in other areas with similar conditions. The time for educating and assisting with rheumatic exercises was relatively limited, so long-term changes in participants’ habits could not be ensured. Contribution: This program promotes a healthy lifestyle by providing early prevention solutions for joint disorders, thus reducing reliance on medication. The program also helps increase public understanding of the importance of non-pharmacological therapy, particularly rheumatic exercises, as an alternative to overcome joint stiffness.

Edukasi Recycle Craft untuk Lingkungan Bersih Kreatif pada Siswa SD Muhammadiyah 7 Palembang

Purpose: This activity aims to raise awareness among students, teachers, and the school community about waste management, develop student creativity through crafts made from recycled materials, and encourage the habit of sorting waste and reusing inorganic waste. Methodology/approach: The activity was conducted through lectures, demonstrations of making crafts from inorganic waste, and a Q&A session with door prizes. Participants were taught how to make flowers from single-use plastic cups. The activity was attended by 20 students from grades 3 and 6 of SD Muhammadiyah 7 Palembang. Results/findings: Participants understood the steps in making crafts from plastic cups. This program should be continued to help maintain the cleanliness of the school environment. Conclusion: This program contributed to the school's efforts in maintaining cleanliness from plastic waste. Limitation: This activity only involved 20 students, so its impact has not yet been widely felt. Moreover, the focus is still on education and crafting, without a long-term strategy for program sustainability. However, this program has effectively raised awareness of waste management and recycling creativity at SD Muhammadiyah 7 Palembang.
