Purpose: This study aimed to examine the implementation of Cub Scout extracurricular activities in shaping the disciplinary character of fourth- and fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Watukelir. This research highlights the significance of early character education and the strategic role of scouting in cultivating discipline, responsibility, and independence among young learners. Methodology/approach: A qualitative descriptive approach was used. Data were collected through interviews with school personnel, observations of scouting activities, and documentation analysis. The data were analyzed using the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to ensure comprehensive and credible results. Results/findings: The findings indicate that the Cub Scout program is well-structured and is routinely implemented. Activities included regular training sessions on discipline, marching, proper use of Scout uniforms, and various outdoor exercises. These initiatives have significantly influenced students' disciplinary behavior, as reflected in improved punctuality, adherence to school rules, and greater engagement in class activities. Key supporting factors include strong commitment from Scout leaders, institutional support from schools, and enthusiastic student participation. Conclusions: The study concludes that Cub Scout extracurricular activities play a vital role in developing students’ disciplinary character when conducted consistently and aligned with their developmental needs. The Role of Propaganda in Modern Society

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the historical development, theoretical foundation, and modern application of the propaganda system as a key mechanism for shaping public opinion, guiding social development, and ensuring societal cohesion in the 21st century. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach through literature-based analysis. Key theoretical perspectives from prominent scholars such as Harold Lasswell, Walter Lippmann, and John Dewey are reviewed to understand the evolution of propaganda theories and their relevance to modern societal dynamics. Results: The findings show that the propaganda system has evolved from a basic tool of communication into a complex and structured mechanism for managing public opinion. In modern society, propaganda plays a crucial role in influencing the public’s perception of sociopolitical reforms, promoting shared values, addressing social problems, and mobilizing collective action. Institutions across the political, economic, and cultural sectors actively rely on propaganda to secure support and foster public engagement. Conclusions: The study concludes that propaganda, when used responsibly, functions as a powerful force for social unity, value dissemination, and problem-solving. As societies face ongoing challenges, such as crises and conflicts, the significance of propaganda in shaping collective consciousness and guiding public behavior remains indispensable. Limitations: This study is limited to theoretical and literature-based discourse without empirical data or case studies to support claims. It does not assess the ethical dilemmas or manipulative potential of propaganda in authoritarian contexts. Contributions: This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of propaganda’s societal functions by connecting classical theories with modern implementations. This highlights how propaganda, when aligned with democratic and humanistic values, can be an effective tool for social development, cohesion, and reform.

Analisis Pengaruh Latihan Otot Lengan terhadap Keterampilan Chest Pass Bola Basket

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of arm muscle training on improving chest pass skills in basketball, a fundamental technique essential for effective ball distribution between players. Methodology/approach: A literature review method was employed by examining 18 scientific sources, including national and international journals and academic books published between 2004 and 2024. Thematic content analysis was used to identify the relationship between arm muscle training and chest pass proficiency. Results/findings: The findings indicate that arm muscle training such as push-ups, weightlifting, and medicine ball chest pass drills significantly improve the power, accuracy, and distance of passes. These exercises also contribute positively to other basic basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, and additional passing techniques. Statistical data from multiple studies confirm the effectiveness of such training on technical performance. Conclutions: Arm muscle training plays a vital role in enhancing chest pass effectiveness, particularly through the development of biceps and triceps strength. Therefore, this form of training should be integrated as a core component in structured basketball skill development programs. Limitations: This study is limited to a literature-based analysis without direct experimental validation, suggesting that further empirical research is needed to confirm the findings in real training environments. Contribution: The study offers a systematic and comprehensive synthesis of existing literature, which has not been extensively reviewed in this context, and provides practical guidance for coaches in designing targeted and evidence-based arm muscle training programs.

Membentuk Karakter Generasi Bangsa Melalui Penggunaan Media Sosial?

Purpose: This article discusses the impact of social media usage on character formation in a nation's generation, especially among teenagers. Methodology: This study uses a qualitative approach with interviews and observation techniques on millennials who are active users of social media. Results: This research shows that although social media can accelerate information exchange and enhance creativity, it also risks having negative impacts on the morals and ethics of adolescents. Therefore, the roles of parents, teachers, and education stakeholders are very important in guiding the younger generation to use social media wisely and responsibly. Conclusions: Social media has an enormous influence on teenagers. Without proper guidance, they are vulnerable to negative behaviors. Character education in the digital era involves parents, teachers, and the community to ensure wise use of social media, raising awareness of its positive and negative impacts. Therefore, clear guidance is required. Limitations: This study was limited to young people who are active on social media; therefore, the results may not be representative of the entire adolescent population. Additionally, the qualitative approach limits the generalizability of the findings. Contribution: This study provides insights into the impact of social media on the formation of adolescent characters. The results can be used as a basis for designing effective character education programs involving parents and educators in the wise and responsible use of social media.
