The goal is to improve local welfare, enhance food security, and promote community health through innovative and practical solutions.</p> <p><strong>Methodology/approach: </strong>The program was conducted in Takerharjo Village, involving 50 farmers and 30 households. Sustainable agricultural tools such as organic fertilizers, drip irrigation systems, and pest control traps were introduced. Health education sessions were held using interactive methods, including workshops and demonstrations. Surveys and interviews were conducted to assess the community's needs and evaluate the program's impact. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel for quantitative results and thematic analysis for qualitative feedback.</p> <p><strong>Results/findings: </strong>The initiative successfully increased agricultural productivity by 25% through the adoption of sustainable practices. Health education improved community awareness of hygiene and nutrition, leading to healthier lifestyles. Participants reported higher satisfaction and confidence in managing their farms and health.</p> <p><strong>Limitations: </strong>The study was limited by the short duration of the program and the small sample size, which may affect the generalizability of the results.</p> <p><strong>Contribution: </strong>This study contributes to the fields of community development, sustainable agriculture, and public health. As a key pillar of Indonesia’s economy, many UMKM still rely on traditional marketing methods, which are less effective in reaching broader markets.</p> <p><strong>Methodology/approach:</strong> The program was conducted in several stages: preparation, socialization, training, direct mentoring, evaluation, and monitoring. Participants were trained to use digital platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Data were collected through surveys and interviews conducted before and after the program.</p> <p><strong>Results/findings:</strong> The program significantly improved participants’ understanding and skills in digital marketing, content creation, platform management, and data analysis. UMKM successfully developed and implemented structured marketing strategies tailored to their businesses.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> This initiative effectively enhanced the digital marketing capabilities of UMKM, enabling them to shift from conventional methods to data-driven digital approaches. Structured mentoring was crucial to successful implementation. Continued support and monitoring are recommended to sustain the program’s impact and further boost UMKM competitiveness.</p> <p><strong>Limitations:</strong> The program involved a limited number of participants, which may affect the generalizability of the findings.</p> <p><strong>Contribution:</strong> The program contributes to strengthening UMKM digital literacy and marketing effectiveness through practical training and mentoring. It also encourages collaboration and knowledge-sharing among local entrepreneurs, supporting their growth in the digital economy.</p> Muhamad Amir Ariandi, Muhammad Rinaldi Copyright (c) 2025 Muhamad Amir Ariandi, Muhammad Rinaldi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://penerbitgoodwood.com/index.php/JNM/article/view/4449 Thu, 13 Feb 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Perspektif Epidemiologi Sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Penyakit Tidak Menular Bagi Masyarakat Pulau Bromsi https://penerbitgoodwood.com/index.php/JNM/article/view/4676 <p><strong>Purpose:</strong> This community service initiative on the impact of physical exercise on community health in Bromsi Island, Biak Numfor Regency, focuses on the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and improving overall quality of life through structured exercise activities.</p> <p><strong>Methodology/approach:</strong> The community service program consisted of (1) surveys and discussions with educators, staff, and students; (2) obtaining permits from local authorities; (3) socializing the importance of exercise; (4) presenting the health benefits of exercise; (5) organizing group exercise sessions; and (6) monitoring and evaluating the impact on the community.</p> <p><strong>Results/findings:</strong> The program increased public awareness of physical activity, promoted healthy lifestyles, and decreased NCD cases, positively affecting the local economy and community productivity.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> From an epidemiological perspective, regular physical activity has been shown to help prevent non-communicable diseases in the community of Bromsi Island.</p> <p><strong>Limitations:</strong> Challenges include inadequate sports facilities and limited local support. The effectiveness of these programs varied according to community participation.</p> <p><strong>Contribution:</strong> This study offers insights for evidence-based health policies and highlights the need to integrate health education with physical activity to enhance community well-being.
